Where can I purchase a piano?

Used pianos are often posted on Craigslist, but it is recommended to try the piano in person with an experienced teacher or hire a piano technician to evaluate the piano. It is of great benefit to piano study to practice on a good acoustic piano that is well maintained.

New and used pianos are offered for sale at these local piano stores:

Evola Music 7170 N Haggerty Rd, Canton, MI 48187
(734) 455-4677

Kings Keyboard 2363 E Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
(734) 663-3381

Where do I find a piano mover?

Many moving companies will move a piano as part of a household move, but their experience varies.

If you only need to move a piano, many of my students have had excellent results with Jack Carter (313) 598-5449.

Are all piano tuners the same?

Piano tuning and repair is not a licensed occupation, so there is a wide difference in the training of individuals who offer their services. Those with the highest training and qualifications are usually certified through the Piano Technicians Guild, found at ptg.org. Be wary of anyone who simply took a course online, as qualified technicians normally apprentice for a number of years. I am happy to provide a list of referrals.
